Swimmers make a splash at championships

THE Bracken Ridge Wizards Swimming Club recently held its annual club championships.

There were several long-standing records broken by members Jordan Conroy and Madeleine Buechler.

Jordan broke the Open 100m Freestyle record previously held by Nic Van der Maat from 1997 with a new time of 54.60s.

Madeleine also broke the Open 100m Freestyle record previously held by Melita Sprott from 1998, with a new time of 1:01.27.
