AFTER a busy day making billions of dollars, Oprah Winfrey just wants to slide into a hot bath.
However, the 64-year-old isn't using just any old tub. Hers is hand-carved to fit the curves of her body and chiselled from marble and onyx.
"Bathing is my hobby," Winfrey explained on The Late Show With James Corden. "Bath salts, bath oils … anything for the bath you can get me."
The crowd, including her Wrinkle In Time co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling, grew curious about how Winfrey got such a prized item.
"First, they do a model - they create a cast model," she said as the audience erupted in gasps. "You lie inside it … I'm serious about it."
Winfrey has talked about her decadent bathing habits before, telling Vogue in 2017 she "majors" in bathtubs.
"I spend my time looking for the best possible bathtub a woman can buy," she said from her palatial 65-acre Montecito, California home. "And actually, Stedman [Graham]'s never been in this one. When I was in Chicago, he would ask for permission, 'Can I get in your tub?' And I would say, 'Mmmmm … OK.'"
She said her obsession with bathtubs started when she grew up sharing a single bathroom with her family.
"And when I would go back home, after having been in hotels and seeing that there are nicer tubs in the world, and there's that little tub with a ring around it, where Comet could no longer clean the ring around the tub - and it was my job to clean it - because it has been permatised, I vowed if I ever got my own place, I was going to get myself a good tub!"
