New members bring humour to speeches

THREE of the newest members of Sandgate Toastmasters Club won first, second and third place in the club's Humorous Speech Contest.

Blake Rooney won first place with his story about his accident-prone father. In second place, Nikki Lloyd spoke about her family foibles, and Peter Dooley's speech was titled 'Information Technology and Me'.

The first two place getters will represent the club in the Area 8 Contest in November.

Sandgate Toastmasters meet at The Full Moon Hotel, Sandgate at 7pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
