SANDGATE golfer Richard Cook won the Sandgate Cup by two shots with a net score of 68 and beating runner up Mark Gooding who scored a net 70.

The best gross score was awarded to Gary Heslop from Nudgee for the second year in a row with a gross 75.

Club Captain Brett Forrest said, "The weather was perfect and everyone enjoyed the golf on the day.

"It was not an easy course to play on the day so it was great for competition.

"The day was a huge success for the club with 122 players from clubs all over South East Queensland and as far away as Townsville and Denmark playing.

"Thanks to everyone for making the day a huge success and a special thanks to the sponsor of the day, the Bayside Star for their great sponsorship of the event,” Mr Forrest said.
