Lion cubs gather in Bracken Ridge park

BRACKEN Ridge Central Lions Club's youngest members celebrated Easter at their first quarterly cub meet of the year.

The gathering of cubs (aged from six months to 13 years) was held at the club's recent monthly steam train day in McPherson Park.

The children completed a games circuit and had a photo taken with Easter Bunny, who handed out some eggs.

The Bracken Ridge club launched its Lion Cub initiative late last year with 18 members as a way of introducing the young to the rewards of serving the community.

Lions club members meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month. The first Tuesday is an informal social meeting and the third Tuesday is a more formal dinner meeting often with a guest speaker.

The second Tuesday of each month is allocated to a board meeting and all members are welcome.

Family fun day welcomes refugees
