HAS Darth Vader been replaced by a Holden Calais?
This cheery bunch of Storm Troopers certainly seem loyal to guarding their shiny black master, but why at a Holden dealership rather than the more traditional Death Star?
Well, it's all part of a rebel alliance (sorry for that) between Holden and The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand to promote the Star Wars franchise, ahead of the release of the new movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Say "Star Wars" to anyone of a certain age - typically those currently enduring a mid-life crisis - and they go a bit mushy with excitement, as evidenced by a trailer for the new film picking up 88 million views globally in just 24 hours.
Holden has tied itself to this Star Wars fever, with Disney spokeswoman Kylie Watson-Wheeler drawing parallels between the car company and film producer at the announcement of the multi-year promotional license agreement.
"Disney and Holden share a long-term bond with Australian and Kiwi families, along with a heritage of trust, innovation and excellence," she said.
Holden said it would have "innovative and engaging activations" coming in Australia and New Zealand relevant to the Star Wars tie-in, but didn't reveal any specifics.
So we'll have to speculate for them. The Commodore SS Storm Trooper? Colorado Wookiee edition? Obi-Wan Barina? Malibu-D2?
Let's just hope Ford doesn't strike back with a Millennium Falcon XR8.\
