FORMER Gympie mother of two and international cage fighting phenomenon, Arlene "Angerfist" Blencowe will be fighting to continue her rocket ride to stardom with a crucial contest in the USA on Saturday (our time).

Now rated third in the international Bellator multiple martial arts franchise, Blencowe is busy adjusting to the American time difference after 24 hours of travelling and waiting for connecting flights between Sydney and California, where she is generating a significant following.

With six wins out of 10 fights, she faces a much more experienced top-ranking opponent Marloes Coenen, who has a career score of 22 wins to six losses.

Her growing fame in international multiple martial arts competition shows in the top position her fight occupies on the Bellator card for Saturday.

The top female bout on the card, it is ranked only four fights behind the main event on a card of 13 fights.

Now aiming to peak for the big event, her fight comes after a jaw dropping victory in May.

Fight News Australia reported her impressive world debut with Bellator, saying she had stopped a more experienced opponent with a technical knockout only four minutes and eight seconds into the fight.

Blencowe, 32, now lives in Sydney, at Manly.

She already boasts major achievements in other fight sports, including boxing, wrestling, kick boxing, jiu jitsu and her big new sport, cage fighting, the one that puts them all together.

Her hyper-intense six-day-a-week training schedule has taken her a long way from Amamoor and Gympie, where she grew up, attending Amamoor and One Mile primary schools and Gympie State and James Nash high schools.

With family still here, she has enthusiastic Gympie backing.
