A CHARITY golf day in Virginia raised more than $17,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

The fifth golf day organised by Versace Timbers attracted 129 players - which included sponsors, clients and staff - to Virginia Golf Club.

Versace Timbers event coordinator Jenni Day said, "This was the fifth time Versace Timbers has organised a charity golf day and we are proud to announce that this year was our most successful.

"In the four previous years we had raised a total of nearly $30,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation, with our previous best year being $9800. This year smashed the record - we raised $17,760 on the day.

"I would like to thank our very generous customers, sponsors and staff who bought raffle tickets, over-paid for auction items, stomached oyster shots, shot little pretend ducks, and continued to put their hands in the pockets all day.”
