TRAVIS Cloke could make his AFL return on Saturday, four weeks after taking a break from the game with depression.
Premiership star Lachie Hunter said Cloke was "in a really good headspace" and could be considered to replace Jake Stringer (hamstring) for the trip to Cairns to host Gold Coast.
Cloke could also be called upon should the Dogs omit Jack Redpath, who was held scoreless by Liam Jones and to only three kicks.
Cloke was named in Footscray's best and kicked one goal in its big VFL win against Geelong.
"Trav's obviously played the last two games of VFL and seems to be really enjoying it," Hunter said.
"I was actually chatting to him during the week and he said that for the first time in a while he was really loving playing footy in VFL.
"He's back in a really good headspace."
Cloke, 30, has kicked six goals from six games for the Dogs. Hunter said Clay Smith would be a candidate to replace Stringer if the Dogs opt to go small.
The Dogs will regain vice-captain Easton Wood from suspension against the Suns.
