THE Bachelor Sam Wood has declared his love for single mum Snezana Markoski.
In tonight's grand final of Channel 10's popular reality dating show, the 35-year-old was finally able to confess his true feelings for the Perth beauty.
"The finale was an incredible experience," Wood told APN.
"I found myself opening up like I never thought I would and never have before in my life. The reason I was able to do that is I was so certain about my decision and how strongly I feel about the girl.
"Four months later I know I have absolutely made the right decision."
That decision surprised many fans, with data from Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings revealing Lana Jeavons-Fellows was mentioned more often, 61 percent, in tweets than Snezana in the lead up to tonight's final.
The survey didn't take the nature of the tweets into account though.
Even NSW Premier Mike Baird live tweeted the final, which was the top trending topic in Australia.
My running times are slowing down but they are lightening compared to this process! Just decide mate. #TheBachelorAU— Mike Baird (@mikebairdMP) September 17, 2015
Wood presented 34-year-old Markoski with a diamond ring to symbolise his commitment and a necklace with a heart pendant for her daughter Eve, 9, who encouraged her to go on the show.
"Eve made you come on this, she pushed you and I will forever be in her debt," he told Markoski.
"You make me a better man. I want to spoil you and I want to look after you forever and I totally understand that it doesn't just mean looking after you. I know it means looking after Eve."
Before making his final decision, Wood introduced Markoski and runner-up Fellows to his father, brother and sister.
His father Andrew gave Markoski his seal of approval after having a heart-to-heart chat about her daughter and Wood's mother, who passed away when he was 15.
"I would be very happy to have her as a daughter-in-law," he said.
Wood and Markoski have been meeting in secret since the final was filmed and can now finally go public with their romance.
Channel 10 has already ordered another season of the reality dating show and its spin-off, The Bachelorette, premieres on Wednesday.
