SOME of Queensland's most talented singers will take to the stage in full costume at Sandgate Town Hall on August 26 as part of an Opera Queensland state tour.

An all-star opera line-up will share a combination of theatricality, backstage humour and fabulous music during the 12 A Night with Opera Queensland shows.

Opera Queensland artistic director Lindy Hume said the audience would be treated to a variety of difference experiences.

"A Night with Opera Queensland will evolve from a purposefully chaotic opening to culminate in grand operatic splendour worthy of any stage,” Ms Hume said.

"Audiences will love the Champagne Song from Die Fledermaus, pay homage to Gladys Moncrieff in Lehár's The Merry Widow Waltz, and the elegant duets of classics like The Pearlfishers, Lakme and La Boheme, performed in gala glamour.”

Soprano Emily Burke, tenor Bradley Daley and baritone Shaun Brown will feature in the tour performing popular, lighter pieces, snappy Broadway favourites and traditional grand opera.

The singers will perform as some of the most popular characters from Madama Butterfly, Rigoletto and Don Giovanni.
